Amazing Grace Children's Charity

Amazing Grace Children’s Charity feeds at-risk children by organizing and packing 750 snacks a month for children and their families.

In April 2017, Amazing Grace Children’s Charities expanded its scope to include feeding at-risk children in the Como Community Center’s after-school program. The Community Center is located in Fort Worth.

In 2020, in response to the pandemic, they doubled the number of meals we send every week. We continue to send 150 meals to the Community Center every week throughout the year.

Volunteers meet monthly during the school year to organize food donations and pack bags of food for each child. Extra bags are made when we know the child has other siblings at home who may also be in need.

Ronald McDonald House Fort Worth

The Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth offers a supportive, home-like community that eases burdens for seriously ill children and their families.

The Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth opened its doors in a stately, historic mansion on 8th Avenue with 11 family bedrooms in 1981.

By 1996, demand was so great that a new 20-bedroom House was built just one block from Cook Children’s Medical Center and Harris Methodist Hospital. As those hospitals grew, so did the need for our services, so in 2004, RMHFW expanded to serve 38 families each night. In addition, a Ronald McDonald Family Room was opened inside Cook Children’s Medical Center. RMHFW opened its latest 20,000-square-foot expansion in August 2013. The House can now serve up to 57 families each night.

In 2018, RMHFW launched the Day Program to further our mission impact on families who are not currently staying at the House.

In 2019, the Hospitality Cart program was initiated at Cook Children’s Medical Center and Baylor Scott & White All Saints.

Tarrant Area Food Bank

Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) is the primary source of donated food for hunger-relief charities and feeding programs in 13 North Texas counties. Their mission is to empower communities to eliminate hunger by providing food, education, and resources through innovation and collaboration.

Tarrant Area Food Bank was founded in 1982 by a group of Fort Worth residents concerned about hunger in their community. Three months after opening in October 1982, the organization had distributed donated food to 50 charities in Fort Worth, thanks to commercial donors and a holiday food drive by the Fort Worth community.

In 2020, dedicated people like you donated 60,800 hours of their time to help fill empty plates.

SafeHaven of Tarrant County

SafeHaven is the domestic violence service provider in Tarrant County providing assistance to families healing from violent relationships. Their services include immediate shelter and housing, a 24-hour crisis hotline, support and counseling, and legal counsel, as well as prevention and reformative services.

SafeHaven is the only state-designated family violence center in Tarrant County. They began in 1976 as two agencies: The Women’s Haven in Fort Worth and The Women’s Shelter in Arlington. In 2006, the two agencies merged to become SafeHaven of Tarrant County.

Over their 45+ year history, they have never strayed from their mission: to end domestic violence in Tarrant County. Everything they do is with the end goal of providing freedom for survivors of domestic violence.

SafeHaven of Tarrant County hosts the “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event to raise awareness around domestic violence.

Honored Hero Run

The Honored Hero Run is a family-friendly event to honor those who have battled or are currently battling blood cancer.

This event is a collective endeavor, by a group of local leaders and friends, to bring the community together in an effort to raise awareness of and funds for blood cancer research. Proceeds are donated to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
